The Innokin T18 is the original device that began the Endura line and established Innokin's reputation for reliable, cigarette-style MTL starter kits. Everything that followed, the T18E, T18 X, T20S and T22 series, was built on the foundation the original T18 demonstrated: a slim pen format, a tight MTL draw, simple operation, and dependable coil performance.
At £28.99, the T18 is not positioned as a budget entry point but as an older-model device that still performs correctly and still has a base of users who want to replace or add to what they already own. For existing T18 users, this is the same device they know. For new buyers, it is a device with a longer track record than anything else in the Innokin range, and the rest of the Innokin vape kits line sits around it.
Innokin launched the T18 to address what the vaping market was missing at the entry level: a genuinely cigarette-proportioned pen device that worked consistently without technical knowledge. At the time, the market offered large mod-and-tank setups for experienced vapers and small, underpowered devices that failed to deliver satisfying nicotine for ex-smokers. The T18 sat between these poles with a practical specification and a design that was immediately intuitive.
The T18's 1000mAh battery, 14W output, and BDC coil system gave it a specific draw character that appealed directly to ex-smokers. The device was tight to draw on, delivered cool vapour at relatively low wattage, and required nothing more sophisticated than a five-click power sequence and a button hold to operate. This simplicity was its strength.
The subsequent Endura models have added battery capacity, upgraded coil platforms, and additional colour options. The T18E offers a larger 1300mAh battery; the T18 X adds USB-C and a revised coil format. But the T18 original remains in production because there is a portion of the vaping population that bought one, liked it, and wants to continue using the same device rather than transitioning to a successor model.
The T18 uses BDC (Bottom Dual Coil) coils in the Prism format, available in 1.5 Ohm and 1.7 Ohm. These coils have two heating elements rather than one, which provides more consistent heating across the coil body and slightly more vapour production than an equivalent single-coil design at the same resistance.
The 1.5 Ohm Prism coil operates at 11 to 14 watts and delivers a moderately tight MTL draw with warm vapour. It suits both 50/50 e-liquids and nic salt formulations at 10mg to 20mg. The 1.7 Ohm Prism coil runs at 10 to 12 watts and gives the coolest, tightest draw available for the T18, sitting very close to a filtered cigarette in terms of draw resistance.
An important distinction: the T18's Prism BDC coils are compatible with the T18 and the T18 II tank. They use a different thread and fit specification from the Prism T18E coils used in the T18E and T18 X, and are not interchangeable with the Prism S coils used in the T22E and T22 Pro. When ordering replacement coils for the original T18, verify the listing specifies compatibility with the T18 or T18 II rather than the T18E or T22 series.
Three types of buyer come to the original T18 in 2026. The first is the existing T18 user replacing a worn or damaged device. They bought the original, vaping has become part of their daily routine, and they have no desire to change what is already working. A replacement T18 body at £28.99 is the lowest-disruption option.
The second buyer is someone purchasing on behalf of an existing T18 user. A partner, relative, or friend who knows the T18 is the device being used buys it as a replacement or spare without needing to research whether a newer model would suit better. The T18's continued availability makes it a safe and specific purchase for this scenario.
The third buyer is someone who specifically prefers the original T18 design over its successors. The T18E has a marginally different body shape and a slightly different coil format. Some vapers simply prefer the exact dimensions and feel of the device they started on. The T18 remaining in production means that preference can be honoured.
At £28.99, the T18 original is priced above the T18E device-only unit and the T20S complete kit, which reflects its positioning as a replacement for existing users rather than an entry-level recommendation for new vapers. New vapers comparing starter kits should look at the T18 X or T20S for equivalent price with more current hardware.
The T18 is about as simple as a vape gets, but a fresh BDC coil still needs priming before its first vape. Skip that and the cotton scorches on the opening draw, which is the single most common reason a new coil tastes burnt.
Burnt taste on a fresh coil
It was fired before the cotton soaked. Drip onto the coil, refill, and rest it five minutes before the first draw.
Burnt taste after a week or two
The coil has worn out, sooner on sweet juice. Fit a new Prism 1.5 or 1.7 Ohm BDC coil.
Gurgling or a flooded coil
Do not overfill, and keep liquid out of the central airflow tube when filling.
Device will not fire
Check it is on with five clicks and has charge. A blinking light usually means a flat battery or the device locked off.
