The Innokin Prism T18 II is the second-generation revision of the original Prism T18 clearomizer. The most notable addition over the T18E is the magnetic cap: a cover for the drip tip that attaches magnetically and keeps the mouthpiece clean and protected when the device is in a pocket or bag. It is a practical convenience the T18E does not include, and the clearest reason to choose the T18 II over its sibling.
The kit comes with a 1.5 Ohm coil fitted, a spare drip tip, a spare O-ring set and the magnetic cap. Three colours are available, all in stock at £45.60: Black, Silver and Rainbow. The colour range is narrower than the T18E’s 14 options, but the pack is better stocked. It sits within the wider Innokin tank range and pairs naturally with the brand’s pen-style Innokin vape kits.
The magnetic cap on the T18 II is a small cover that fits over the drip tip and holds in place by a magnetic connection rather than a friction fit or clip. When you want to vape, you lift the cap off. When you put the device away, you press the cap back onto the drip tip and the magnet holds it securely. The cap stays on through the minor forces of pocket carry but releases instantly when you pull it off.
The practical benefit is hygiene. An uncovered drip tip in a pocket or bag picks up lint, dust, and general debris from whatever else is in the compartment. The magnetic cap prevents this without the hassle of a screw cap or a rubber plug that can be easily misplaced. It is a detail that reflects the T18 II's positioning as a step up from the entry-level T18 and T18E.
The magnetic cap also protects the drip tip from minor physical damage. Drip tips can be knocked out of alignment or scratched if the device is carried loose. The cap acts as a buffer between the mouthpiece and any hard surfaces in the same pocket. The kit includes a spare drip tip regardless, but the cap reduces how often you will actually need to use it.
Both tanks are 18mm in diameter, both fit the same class of slim pen-style devices, and both use a 1.5 Ohm MTL coil as the primary option. The differences come down to the accessory set, the colour range and the price.
The T18E has 14 colour options, the widest choice of any Prism tank. Its kit contains the tank, a fitted coil and a spare O-ring set, which is functional and complete but minimal, for £42.00. The T18 II has three colours but adds the magnetic cap and a spare drip tip to the pack, taking the accessory content up for a price of £45.60.
Choose the T18E if colour variety is your main concern and you do not need the magnetic cap. Choose the T18 II if you carry your device loose in a pocket or bag and want the drip-tip protection the cap provides, or if you would rather have the spare drip tip in the box from day one than buy it separately later.
The T18 II ships with a 1.5 Ohm coil, which is the resistance that defines the device’s character. At the modest wattage a pen-style battery supplies, the 1.5 Ohm coil gives a tight mouth-to-lung draw that closely mimics the feel of a cigarette. You pull the vapour into your mouth first, then breathe it down, rather than drawing straight to the lungs. For anyone moving off cigarettes, that familiar action is half the reason these tanks still sell.
The cooler, restricted draw also keeps the throat hit smooth even at higher nicotine strengths, which is why the 1.5 Ohm coil pairs so well with nic salts. A 50/50 VG/PG liquid wicks cleanly through it and carries flavour well without flooding the coil. Very high VG blends are not the right partner here: they are too thick for the small wicking ports and tend to wick slowly, which can lead to dry hits.
The Prism T18 II coil is its own format. It does not interchange with T18E, T20S or the newer Prism S coils used by the Endura T22 range, so when you reorder make sure you are buying T18 II coils specifically. A coil typically lasts one to two weeks depending on how sweet your e-liquid is, with dessert flavours wearing the wick down fastest.
Out of the box the tank has a coil fitted, so the only real discipline is priming it before the first vape. Skip that and the cotton scorches on the first draw, which is the single most common reason a brand-new tank tastes burnt.
Burnt taste on a fresh coil
It was vaped before the cotton soaked. Drip onto the wicking ports, refill, and rest it five minutes before drawing.
Gurgling or spitback
Usually an overfill or liquid in the central airflow tube. Vape it down a little and keep juice off the chimney when filling.
Weak flavour or thin vapour
The coil is likely worn, sooner on sweet liquids. Fit a fresh T18 II coil and prime it.
Leaking around the base
Check the spare O-rings are seated and the tank sections are screwed together snug, not cross-threaded.
