The VooPoo Drag S2 is the step up from a plain pod into proper pod-mod territory. It keeps the pocketable, one-handed shape of a pod but adds the power and flexibility of a small mod: up to 60W of output, a 0.96 inch colour TFT screen, the responsive GENE.TT 2.0 chip and VooPoo's PnP X coil platform. That means it can do far more than a basic pod, taking you from a tight mouth-to-lung draw all the way to a warm, cloudy direct-lung vape, simply by swapping the coil.

It is built to feel good, too. A zinc-alloy frame wrapped in leather gives it a solid, premium hand-feel, a generous 2500mAh battery keeps it going, and the screen and menu are clean and easy to read one-handed. PnP X coils click in with four-layer leak protection for a tidy, reliable vape. It sits in our refillable pod kits as the versatile, higher-power option, a clear step beyond style-led pods like the VMATE E2 for anyone who wants real wattage.
The Drag S2's headline is power. It outputs up to 60W, far more than the 30W or so a typical pod manages, which is what lets it drive lower-resistance coils for a warmer, cloudier vape. Running it all is VooPoo's GENE.TT 2.0 chip, known for fast, crisp firing and reliable coil recognition. You set the wattage on the clear 0.96 inch TFT screen, and a simple one-handed menu keeps everything within reach without fuss.
There is sensible flexibility in the modes. ECO mode stretches the battery for a longer day, Smart mode reads the coil and sets a suitable power for you, and there is an RBA option for those who like to rebuild. For most people Smart mode does the thinking, while anyone who wants control can dial the wattage in by hand. It is a proper little device that still slips into a pocket, which is the whole appeal of a pod mod.

The Drag S2 uses VooPoo's PnP X coil platform, one of the most versatile around, with four-layer leak protection built into the pod. The huge appeal is range: a 0.6ohm coil gives a tight, restricted MTL or RDL draw on nic salts, a 0.3ohm coil opens it up further, and 0.2 or 0.15ohm coils push into warm, cloudy direct-lung territory on higher-VG juice. The kit comes with 0.2ohm and 0.3ohm coils to get you started across that spread.
Coils click straight into the PnP X pod, so swapping between an MTL and a DTL setup is quick and clean, and the side-fill pod tops up in seconds. An adjustable top airflow ring fine-tunes the draw to match the coil, from a firm cigarette-like pull to an airy lung hit. Pair the higher-resistance coils with any nic salt for MTL, or the sub-ohm coils with a 70/30 juice for clouds, and one device covers both styles.

A 2500mAh built-in battery gives the Drag S2 plenty of stamina, comfortably more than a small pod, which matters because higher-wattage DTL vaping draws more power. It charges over USB-C, and the 0.96 inch TFT screen shows your wattage, coil resistance, battery and puff count clearly, so you always know where you stand. ECO mode is there when you want to wring the most from a charge on a long day out.
The build is a step up from a plastic pod. A zinc-alloy chassis wrapped in leather gives it a reassuring weight and a grippy, premium feel, and there are 16 colours to choose from, from understated blacks to brighter finishes. At 122mm tall it is still compact and easy to use one-handed, hitting a nice middle ground between a pocket pod and a full-size mod. It is the kind of device you can settle in with for a long time.
There is a little more to it than a plain pod, but the screen guides you. Fit a coil, fill the pod, let it soak, set the wattage and vape. The one habit worth keeping is giving a fresh coil a few minutes to wick before the first hard pull so you avoid a burnt taste, especially on the lower-resistance DTL coils.
The kit is £25.99, and after that you only buy coils and juice. PnP X coils are cheap and widely sold, and last a good while before they tire, so the running cost stays low even with DTL vaping. Fill the pod from a 10ml nic salt for MTL, or a larger bottle of higher-VG juice for sub-ohm clouds, and the cost per vape is pennies, far below prefilled pods or disposables.
Against a disposable it is a different world: you buy the device once, then only pay for coils and juice, and you can vape any style you like. You also bin far less, just a small coil now and then. It is the same money-saving logic as any refillable pod kit, with the added flexibility of a 60W mod, which is why a pod mod like the Drag S2 suits anyone who has outgrown a basic pod.
The Drag S2 is reliable, helped by the leak-resistant PnP X pod and the GENE.TT chip. The few snags that come up trace to a coil that has not wicked, the wattage or airflow, or the lock.
Burnt or dry hit
The coil has not wicked, or the wattage is too high for it. Soak a fresh coil three to five minutes, prime with gentle pulls, and keep the power in the coil's printed range, especially on sub-ohm DTL coils.
Gurgle or leaking
Do not overfill, seat the coil firmly and close the side-fill port properly. The PnP X pod has 4-layer leak protection; a flooded coil clears with a few gentle pulls off the button.
Will not fire
Check it is unlocked with five clicks and has charge on the screen. Make sure the coil is fully seated, and that the pod clicks home on its contacts.
Weak flavour or thin vapour
Turn the wattage up within the coil range, open the airflow, or fit a lower-resistance PnP X coil for a warmer, cloudier hit. A tired coil that will not recover needs replacing.
The Drag S2 sits above the simple pods in VooPoo's range. Against a style-led pod like the VMATE E2 or the screen-led Argus Matrix, the Drag S2 brings far more power, up to 60W, the versatile PnP X coil platform and a bigger 2500mAh battery, so it can do proper direct-lung clouds as well as a tight MTL draw. If you only want a simple, low-power MTL pod, those are lighter and cheaper; if you want the option of sub-ohm DTL vaping, the Drag S2 is the one to pick.
Against a disposable it is in a different league: cost, power, battery, the freedom to vape any style, and far less waste. It is more involved than a sealed bar, but it rewards that with real flexibility, and it recharges and refills instead of going in the bin. For anyone moving up from a basic pod to something with more power and choice, the Drag S2 is a great compact pod mod, and it sits naturally alongside our wider sub-ohm vapes.
