The VooPoo Argus Z2 is built around one question: what does a simple pod kit need, and what can it do without? The answer VooPoo arrived at strips everything back to the two things that matter most at this price: a big battery and a coil that works. The 1500mAh cell is the largest in the Argus Pod family, and VooPoo markets it as lasting up to five days on a single charge, which is a generous claim but reflects a real advantage over devices with 1000mAh or less. The ITO-X coil lives inside the replaceable pod, so there are no coils to press in, no heads to prime separately, and no order to get wrong.

Everything else follows the same logic. Auto-draw fires the device: inhale through the mouthpiece and the 5 to 20W smart output adjusts to the pod resistance and delivers a consistent MTL hit. Fixed airflow means the draw is always the same, which suits vapers coming from disposables who liked the simplicity and just want something they can refill. It is not the most adjustable device on the shelf, but if what you want is a refillable pod kit that gets out of your way, the Argus Z2 does a good job of that for £6.99.
The headline spec is the battery, and it is worth paying attention to. At 1500mAh, the Argus Z2 carries noticeably more charge than devices in the same price bracket: the Xlim Go Lite manages 1000mAh, most basic pods sit at 800 to 900mAh, and some disposable-alternative pods go even lower. VooPoo advertises up to five days of use from a full charge, which assumes moderate MTL vaping on the 0.7ohm coil at the lower end of its 5 to 20W output range. In practice, heavy users will see less. Light to moderate vapers may well find they only charge every couple of days, which is genuinely unusual at this price.
Charging is over USB-C at 5V/1A, which means a full charge in around an hour. The LED indicator tells you where the battery stands: three LED dots when full, fewer as the level drops, and a blinking pattern while charging completes. There is no pass-through vaping (the Argus Z2 is not designed to be used while on charge), so the practical rhythm is a daily or every-other-day top-up rather than constant trickle charging.
The smart power output adjusts automatically within the 5 to 20W range based on the pod resistance. On the included 0.7ohm ITO-X pod, the device runs a moderate wattage that gives a warm, flavourful MTL draw without burning through the coil or the juice too fast. There is no way to manually override that output, which is intentional: the Argus Z2 is a set-and-forget device.

The ITO-X system is the other thing that separates the Argus Z2 from older pod designs. In a traditional pod mod, you buy coils separately and press them into the pod, then replace the coil when it wears out while keeping the pod. With ITO-X, the coil is part of the pod unit: the pod and the coil are a single piece, and when the coil is done, you swap the whole thing. The practical benefit is simplicity: there is nothing to install, no coil-into-pod fitting, no priming ritual beyond filling and a short wait.
The included pod is 0.7ohm and holds 2ml of e-liquid. UK TPD regulations cap refillable pods at 2ml, so that is the standard across the range. The pod fills from the top through a silicone plug, which keeps the fill port sealed between uses and stops the sort of accidental leaks you get with side-fill designs. Once filled and seated in the device, it stays put; the fit is snug and there is no rattle.
ITO-X replacement pods, sold separately, are available in different resistances including higher-ohm options for an even tighter MTL draw. The 0.7ohm pod that ships with the kit sits comfortably in the middle of the range, well suited to 10 to 20mg nic salts and a short, unhurried inhale. A pod typically lasts between five days and two weeks depending on how often you vape, what liquid you use and how sweet it is; darker, sweeter juices are harder on the coil material.
The fixed airflow is a deliberate choice rather than a missing feature. Many pod kits in this range include an adjustable slider, but VooPoo decided the Argus Z2's draw is best tuned to one setting and left there: a measured MTL draw that suits the 0.7ohm coil and the device's 5 to 20W output range. Users coming from disposables will find it familiar, and there is nothing to knock out of position in a bag or pocket.
The body has two design notes that VooPoo describes as stress-relieving. The first is the wave texture on the main panel: a subtle surface pattern that gives the device grip without being rough. The second is the curve: the Argus Z2 is slightly tapered rather than a flat slab, which means it sits more naturally in a closed hand. At 51g, it has enough weight to feel solid without being heavy. Dimensions are 90.3mm tall, 27.5mm wide and 15.3mm deep.
Eight colours in the current run: Silk Black, Shell White, Moss Green, Lake Blue, Lavender, Sunlight Orange, Mint Blue and Rose Pink. The softer pastel options (Lavender, Mint Blue, Rose Pink) show the wave texture most clearly; the darker colours (Silk Black, Moss Green) let the curved shape read rather than the surface.

No coil to install, no settings to configure. The pod arrives in the device or alongside it; fill it, wait, and vape.
After the £6.99 kit, the two ongoing purchases are ITO-X replacement pods and e-liquid. A replacement pod costs around £3 to £4 depending on where you buy it, and the lifespan varies from under a week to a fortnight depending on use and juice. Sweeter, darker liquids are harder on integrated coils than cleaner ones. Running on a 10ml nic salt bottle with a fresh ITO-X pod is the most economical route, and over a month the total cost is a fraction of what the same volume of disposables would cost.
The comparison with a disposable is not subtle. A single-use bar costs £5 to £6 and goes in the bin. The Argus Z2 refills, recharges, and the only consumable is the pod. Even at the high end of pod consumption (changing every five days), the monthly cost is well below a weekly disposable habit. It is one of the cheapest entry points into proper refillable vaping that we stock, and the battery advantage over smaller budget pods makes it genuinely practical as a daily carry.
The Argus Z2 is low-maintenance by design, but three issues come up regularly with any auto-draw pod with fixed airflow.
Burnt or dry hit
The coil did not have time to wick, the pod is nearly empty, or the integrated coil has reached the end of its life. Always leave a freshly filled pod three to five minutes before the first pull. If the burnt taste appeared mid-session, check the juice level. A pod that tastes consistently burnt even when full needs replacing.
Gurgling or flooded draw
Overfilling past the 2ml line, or taking very short, sharp draws can flood the coil area. Do not overfill. Remove the pod, press a tissue against the bottom air inlet and gently flick the pod once or twice to clear excess liquid, then try again with a slower, steadier inhale.
Device not firing on inhale
Check the pod is fully seated in the device. Check the battery: the LED indicator shows level, and if it is flat, charge it over USB-C before the next session. If the battery is charged and the pod is seated, try a replacement pod to rule out a connection issue at the pod contacts.
Weak flavour or thin vapour
On a fixed-airflow device, the most common cause is a tired coil. A fresh ITO-X pod will restore flavour immediately. If the pod is new and flavour is still weak, make sure the fill is adequate and the coil has had time to soak properly.
The Argus Z2's clearest advantage over other budget auto-draw pods is the battery. At 1500mAh it carries a third to a half more charge than most devices at a similar price, and in real use that means fewer cables and less worry. The trade-off is the fixed airflow: devices like the Xlim Go Lite give you an adjustable slider and access to a broader coil range, while the Argus Z2 keeps one draw setting and one coil resistance. If you have a specific draw preference you want to dial in, the Xlim Go Lite may suit you better. If you want the device that needs the least attention, the Argus Z2 is strong.
Against a disposable, the Argus Z2 is the same argument it always is: the disposable is simpler for the first thirty seconds, and worse in every respect after that. You refill the Argus Z2, you recharge it, and the only bin-bound waste is the occasional pod rather than an entire sealed device. At £6.99 it is cheap enough to try without much risk, and compared to buying a pack of bars every week it pays for itself in under a fortnight. It sits naturally alongside our wider range of refillable pod kits for anyone making the switch from single-use devices.
