The VooPoo Argus V1 Top-Fill Cartridge Pods are the XL replacement pods for the VooPoo Argus V1 pod kit. The pack contains three pods. Two coil options are available: 0.4 Ohm for a direct-to-lung draw and 0.7 Ohm for a mouth-to-lung draw. The 0.4 Ohm XL variant is currently in stock at £30 per 3-pack. The 0.7 Ohm XL variant is temporarily out of stock.
These pods use a top-fill design, which is the most straightforward of the three main pod fill methods. You access the fill port from the top of the pod without removing the pod from the device body. The pods also feature a leak-proof construction and an ergonomic drip tip shaped for comfort during use. The XL capacity reduces how often you need to top up e-liquid during the day compared to standard 2ml pods. Fill them with a 50/50 nic salt for the smoothest result.
Pod fill designs fall into three main categories. Top-fill pods are accessed from above: a silicone or magnetic cap at the top of the pod covers the fill port, and you add e-liquid directly down into the reservoir without removing the pod from the device. Bottom-fill pods require you to invert the pod to access the port at the base. Side-fill pods have the port on the body of the pod and allow refilling while the pod is seated, but require tilting the device.
Top-fill is generally considered the most convenient daily-use design. You open the cap, tip the e-liquid bottle downward into the port, fill, close the cap, and continue. There is no pod removal, no inversion, and no need to tilt the device sideways. If you vape in a hurry or dislike fiddly refill routines, top-fill is the least disruptive option during the day.
The leak-proof construction on the Argus V1 pods backs up the top-fill convenience. A leak-proof seal at the fill port means that even when the device is carried in a pocket immediately after filling, the e-liquid stays in the pod. The combination of top-fill access and a reliable seal makes these pods practical for vapers who use their device throughout the day in varied environments.
The 0.4 Ohm pod is the in-stock option at £30 per 3-pack. At 0.4 Ohm, the coil fires at a moderate-to-high wattage for a pod device, producing a draw that is more open than mouth-to-lung but with some airflow restriction compared to a fully open sub-ohm tank. This style is often called restricted direct-to-lung. Vapour production is notable for a pod system, and the warmth of the draw is pleasant at moderate wattage. Use 6 to 12 mg nicotine salt with the 0.4 Ohm pod.
The 0.7 Ohm pod is currently out of stock. At 0.7 Ohm, the coil operates at lower wattage and produces a tighter draw in mouth-to-lung territory. The vapour volume per draw is lower than the 0.4 Ohm, but the draw resistance is closer to a cigarette pull, making the 0.7 Ohm the better starting point for smokers switching to vaping who want the most familiar feel. Pair with 18 to 20 mg nicotine salt when the 0.7 Ohm variant returns to stock.
If you currently vape on a sub-ohm setup or have already made the transition away from cigarettes, the 0.4 Ohm is likely the appropriate choice. If you are switching from cigarettes and the 0.7 Ohm is not available when you order, the 0.4 Ohm can work with a higher nicotine salt concentration (16 to 20 mg) to compensate for the more open draw.
The coil is built into the pod, so there is nothing separate to install. The one habit worth keeping is priming a fresh pod before the first vape. Skip it and the cotton scorches on the opening draw, which is the most common reason a new pod tastes burnt, especially on the 0.4 Ohm DTL pod.
Burnt taste on a fresh pod
It was vaped before the cotton soaked. Refill, rest it five minutes, and start with gentle draws.
Burnt taste after a week or two
The coil has worn out, sooner on sweet juice. Drop in a fresh Argus V1 pod.
Gurgling or a flooded draw
Do not overfill, and close the top-fill cap firmly. A flooded coil clears with a few gentle pulls.
Leaking around the pod
Make sure the fill cap is fully closed and the pod is seated squarely in the device.
