Storm mode runs the device at its higher output range, producing more vapour and a warmer draw. It works best with the included 0.4ohm G3 pod and an open airflow setting. This is the mode for vapers who prefer a direct lung hit or a warmer restricted lung draw with 10mg salts or 50/50 freebase e-liquids.

Waves mode delivers a consistent medium output suited to the 0.6ohm G3 pod. The draw is warmer and slightly more open than a traditional MTL setup, but still controlled enough for 20mg nic salts. The lower output also extends battery life compared to Storm.

Custom mode lets you set a specific wattage for precise control. If you know the exact output that works best with your preferred pod and e-liquid, Custom mode locks that setting in without the device adjusting automatically.

The display is more substantial than the small OLED screens found on most pod kits. Five user interface themes are available for personalisation. The touchscreen is responsive and large enough to read easily without squinting, which is a practical advantage over smaller 0.69" displays.

The screen also shows a wattage bar, battery percentage and the current resistance, giving a more complete picture of what the device is doing than a simple LED indicator or a basic dot-matrix OLED.

FOCS stands for Flavour Optimisation Coil System, Uwell's proprietary approach to designing the interaction between the coil, pod cavity and airpath. Pro-FOCS 4.0 is the current generation, which optimises the heat distribution across the mesh coil and the airflow path through the pod to produce consistent vapour temperature and density from the first puff to the last.

In practical terms, this translates to less of the gradual flavour fade that affects many generic pod coils as they age, and reduced dry-hit sensitivity when the pod is running low on e-liquid. The anti-leak construction is a related feature: the pod seal is designed to prevent wicking saturation issues that can cause gurgling and leakage, particularly when the pod is stored at an angle.

Eight finishes are available: Coral Pink, Cosmic Gray, Crystal White, Desert Gold, Glass Blue, Light Green, Mirror Silver and Waves Black. Desert Gold and Mirror Silver are the most premium-looking options. Crystal White and Waves Black are the cleanest and most understated. Glass Blue and Light Green are the more distinctive everyday colours.
