The IVG Smart Max is IVG's 10,000-puff prefilled pod kit, the one in our range listed simply as the IVG Smart. It does the big-puff thing the tidy way: a 2ml pod sits up top, a 10ml auto-refill container keeps it fed, and that adds up to roughly 10,000 puffs with nothing to fill. An LED screen on the front shows the puff count, battery and mode, so you always know where you stand.

The standout is the pair of modes. Eco and Boost let you choose between stretching the battery and liquid or pushing the flavour and vapour, and you flip between them with three quick puffs rather than fishing for a button. It charges over USB-C, and when it runs dry you drop in a fresh IVG Smart refill. It is one of the better-specced kits in our IVG range and sits among our big-puff vapes.
Legal, and built for the rules as they are now. The single-use disposable ban of June 2025 took out the throwaway bars; the Smart Max is the rechargeable, refillable kind the law allows. The battery tops up over USB-C and the pod swaps out, with a 2ml pod keeping it inside TPD limits while the 10ml feed sits in a separate refill container.
So it is a proper pod kit that happens to last like a big disposable: grab-and-go convenience, none of the daily landfill. That is the whole reason kits like this replaced the bars on the shelf.
No liquid ever touches your hands. The Smart Max runs a 2ml prefilled pod with a built-in mesh coil, sitting on a 10ml auto-refilling container that trickle-feeds the pod as you vape. You click the two together, drop them in, and the device tops itself up, 12ml all in, good for around 10,000 puffs in Eco mode.
When it finally runs dry you swap in a fresh IVG Smart refill rather than binning the device. The mesh coil keeps the flavour honest from full to empty, and the whole thing is inhale-activated, so there is no fire button. Give a fresh pod half a minute to soak before the first pull so you do not catch a dry hit.

This is the Smart Max's party trick, and the switch is clever: three quick puffs flip it between the two modes, no button to hunt for. The screen shows which one you are in, a single flame icon for Eco and two flames for Boost. Eco keeps things gentle and efficient, stretching both the battery and the liquid so you squeeze the most puffs from a refill. Boost winds it up for more vapour and a punchier, fuller flavour.
Most people sit on Eco for the everyday economy and reach for Boost when a flavour deserves it. Worth knowing that Boost gets through the liquid and battery faster, so the headline 10,000 puffs is an Eco-mode figure. Live on Boost and you will see fewer. No free lunch, but a genuinely useful choice that most prefilled kits do not give you.

First run is quick, with nothing to fill or prime.
The 1000mAh battery is a sensible size for a 10,000-puff device, and it recharges fast over USB-C from any phone cable. The LED screen reads out the battery level, the live puff count and which mode you are in, so a flat battery never ambushes you with liquid still in the tank. A 5-puff lock means it will not fire in a pocket or bag by mistake.
That recharge is the whole case for a kit over a disposable: the cell keeps going across refill after refill, and nothing gets binned half-charged. At roughly 100mm tall it is chunkier than a slim bar but still pockets fine.
The Smart Max is 20mg (2%) nic salt across the full flavour range, the UK legal maximum and the strength most people use coming off cigarettes. A handful of the most popular flavours are also offered in 10mg (1%) for a lighter hit, names like Blue Raspberry Ice, Classic Menthol, Cola Ice and Fizzy Cherry, so check the flavour you want if 10mg matters to you.
If you want to taper below 10mg, that is a job for a refillable pod kit you fill with your own bottled nic salts rather than these sealed pods, since the lower strengths only cover part of the range.
There are around 25 flavours, the usual IVG spread: cold fruits, sodas, sharp berries and a couple of menthols. The ice-fruit blends do the heavy lifting. A few worth a punt:
Cheap, once the device is paid for. The kit lands at about £7.20 each in our box of five, and each one comes with a full 12ml pod ready to go. After that you only buy refills: a pack of IVG Smart refills gives another 12ml and roughly 10,000 puffs for less than a fresh kit, since you are not paying for a new battery and screen each time.
Spread across 10,000 puffs the running cost is a fraction of what the old single-use bars worked out at per puff, with far less plastic binned. A pod set lasts a moderate vaper around a week to ten days, so the monthly spend stays low. The device is the one-off; the refills are the cheap part.
Most Smart Max niggles are one of a few simple things. Worth a run-through before assuming it is faulty.
It will not fire
Check the 5-puff lock: take five quick puffs to wake it if it has locked itself. Make sure the screen shows charge and the pod is pressed fully home.
It will not charge
Try a different USB-C cable and a known-good plug or laptop port, and check the port for fluff. Watch the screen to confirm it is taking charge.
A weak or burnt taste
A fresh pod fired before it soaked, or one near the end of its 12ml (the puff count will be well up). Let a new pod soak 30 seconds; if it is spent, swap it. Dropping to Eco also eases the coil.
It is emptying faster than expected
You are probably living in Boost. Boost burns through liquid and battery quicker than Eco, so switch back with three quick puffs for everyday economy.
Yes, and it is one of the more thoughtfully specced 10K kits going. The dual modes are more than a gimmick, the LED screen with its live puff count is genuinely useful, and the three-puff mode switch keeps the body button-free. The 2ml-plus-10ml system means there is nothing to fill and the flavour holds up across the pod.
The honest catches are the usual ones. It is chunkier than a slim bar, you are tied to IVG Smart pods, most flavours are 20mg only, and there is no cable in the box. If you want four flavours at once, the IVG 2400 4-in-1 is the move; if you want a touchscreen, the Pro 2 has one; and to mix your own juice, a refillable from Vaporesso or OXVA is smarter. But for a long-lasting prefilled kit with real options, the Smart Max earns its keep.
