IVG 70/30 100ml

IVG 70/30 has room for two 10ml nic shots, and the maths is easy once you see it. Two 18mg shots added to the 100ml base gives you 120ml of liquid at 3mg, because (2 x 10ml x 18mg) divided by 120ml works out at 3mg. Add just one shot instead and you land around 1.5mg, for an even lighter hit.

3mg is the sweet spot for most sub-ohm vapers anyway. High-VG liquid through a low-resistance coil pushes out a lot of vapour, so a little nicotine goes a long way, and stronger than that can turn harsh at this power. Nic shots are sold separately. Add them, cap the bottle, and give it a proper shake so the nicotine spreads through evenly.

On a per-ml basis it is one of the cheapest ways to vape, which is the whole reason sub-ohm vapers buy shortfills. At 5 for £31.99 a 100ml bottle is about £6.40, and once you add two nic shots you have 120ml of 3mg juice. Work that out and you are paying roughly 5p a ml for finished e-liquid, where ready-mixed 10ml nic salts land nearer 15 to 20p a ml. For a cloud-chaser who gets through liquid quickly, that gap adds up fast.

The trade is the small faff of mixing and the cost of the nic shots, which are sold separately and run about a pound each. Even counting those, a shortfill plus shots comes out far cheaper than buying the same volume in 10ml bottles, and you get to pick your own strength into the bargain. Buy a five-pack and a strip of shots and you are sorted for a good while. It is also less packaging in the bin than a dozen little bottles, which is a quiet bonus on top of the saving.

It comes down to how you vape. If you run a sub-ohm tank or a high-power pod-mod and pull big, airy, direct-to-lung clouds, a 70/30 shortfill like this is exactly the format you want: high VG for vapour, low nicotine because the clouds carry it, and a big bottle for the cost. If that is you, read on.

If you vape a small, tight-draw pod or a starter kit and take a cigarette-style mouth-to-lung puff, this is the wrong bottle. The 70/30 mix is too thick to wick in those little coils, and you want more nicotine per ml, not less. For that, IVG's 50/50 freebase or the higher-strength Intense nic salts are the right call. Plenty of people own both kinds of kit and keep a shortfill for the big device and salts for the pocket pod.

A few habits make a difference with a high-VG shortfill. After you add the nic shots, shake the bottle hard for a minute and then let it stand: high-VG liquid is thick, and the nicotine and flavour need a little time to spread evenly. Many people find a day or two of settling rounds the flavour out, though it is drinkable straight away.

In the tank, give a fresh sub-ohm coil a good prime, drip a little juice onto the cotton and let it sit a few minutes before the first vape, or you will taste a burnt coil. Store the bottle cool and out of the light, screw the cap tight, and the 100ml will keep its flavour for months. If a flavour ever mutes, it is usually a tired coil rather than the juice, so fit a fresh one.

Sub-ohm gear. IVG 70/30 is a high-VG liquid made for low-resistance coils, the kind below about 0.6ohm you find in sub-ohm tanks, pod-mods and rebuildables. Run it at a decent wattage and the 70/30 mix throws thick clouds with a smooth throat hit. This is direct-to-lung vaping, the big airy draw, not the tight pull of a small pod.

It is the wrong juice for an MTL pod or starter kit. Too thick to wick in those tiny coils, and they cannot handle the vapour anyway. For pods and mouth-to-lung, reach for IVG's 50/50 freebase or the Intense nic salts instead. If you want big clouds with no mixing at all, a prefilled big-puff kit does it out of the box.
