The Elf Bar ELFA is the reusable version of the hugely popular Elf Bar 600 disposable. Instead of binning a whole device every time the liquid runs out, the ELFA keeps the part worth keeping: a 500mAh rechargeable battery that takes small prefilled pods. You charge the device over USB-C and replace only the pod, so nothing useful gets thrown away until the device itself reaches the end of its life. It is Elf Bar's answer to the waste and cost of single-use bars.
Each pod holds 2ml of 20mg nicotine salt e-liquid and is rated for up to 600 puffs, the same nicotine and puff allowance as one Elf Bar 600. In other words, one ELFA pod is the direct equivalent of one disposable, except it costs less and produces far less waste. A mesh coil inside each pod gives the authentic Elf Bar flavour the brand is known for, and the pods click in magnetically with no coil to fit and no priming wait.
Using it is deliberately simple. There are no buttons and no settings: the ELFA is auto-draw, so you click in a pod and inhale, and the device fires when it senses the draw. The 500mAh battery covers a full day of moderate use and charges over USB-C in around half an hour. At £6.99 for the device in four colours, it is a low-cost step from disposables to a reusable system, with replacement Elf Bar ELFA Prefilled Pods keeping the running cost down.
The Elf Bar 600 disposable bundles a battery, a coil and 2ml of liquid into a sealed shell that goes in the bin when the liquid is gone, usually with charge still left in the battery. The ELFA separates the two. The battery lives in the reusable device and is recharged over USB-C; the liquid and coil live in a cheap, replaceable pod. You only ever discard the small part that is genuinely used up.
The practical upshot is cost. A disposable is a fixed price every time it dies. With the ELFA you pay once for the device and then only for pods, and a pod costs less than a complete disposable because you are not buying a new battery with it. Over a few weeks of regular use the saving adds up, which is the main reason people switch from Elf Bar 600s to the ELFA.
The second upshot is waste. Vape disposables are a fast-growing source of small-battery waste in the UK, and most are not recycled correctly. A reusable kit cuts that down to the occasional pod rather than a whole device every day or two. For anyone who likes the Elf Bar 600 experience but feels uneasy about the bin pile, the ELFA keeps the flavour and the format and removes most of the waste.
The only trade-off is remembering to charge the device and keep a spare pod or two on hand, neither of which is a real burden once it becomes habit. The 30-minute USB-C charge means a flat battery is back in service quickly.
The ELFA runs a 500mAh internal battery. That is matched to the device's slim size and the low-power mesh coil rather than aimed at multi-day stamina, and in practice it covers a full day of moderate use before needing a top-up. Heavier vapers will charge more often, but the fast charging keeps downtime short.
Charging is over USB-C, and a full charge takes around 30 minutes, quick by pod-kit standards. No cable is included in the box, but any USB-C lead, the kind most phones use, will do the job from a wall plug, laptop or power bank. A small indicator shows when the device is charging and when it is full.
Operation is auto-draw, the same as a disposable. There is no fire button and no settings: you click a pod into the top and inhale, and the device fires automatically when it detects airflow. That makes the ELFA about as simple as a reusable kit gets, and an easy step for anyone coming straight from Elf Bar 600s who does not want to learn anything new.
The pods are the consumable half of the system. Each holds 2ml of 20mg nic salt and clicks magnetically into the top of the device. There is no coil to install separately and no priming wait: the mesh coil is built into the pod, already saturated, so you fit the pod and vape. When the flavour fades or the pod tastes burnt, the whole pod comes out and a fresh one goes in.
The mesh coil is what gives the ELFA its flavour. Mesh heats the e-liquid evenly across a wide surface, which keeps the taste consistent from the first puff to the last and delivers the rich, authentic Elf Bar flavour the brand built its name on. Single-coil pods in cheaper systems often fade or taste burnt before the liquid is gone; the mesh coil mitigates that.
Replacement pods are sold separately as Elf Bar ELFA Prefilled Pods in a wide flavour range, so you are never tied to one flavour. Keeping a couple of spares means you are never caught out when a pod runs dry. Note that the standard ELFA pods are what this device takes; the ELFA Pro uses its own Pro pods on a separate, upgraded device.
There are three closely related Elf Bar products worth comparing. The Elf Bar 600 is the original disposable: one sealed unit, 2ml, up to 600 puffs, then the bin. It is the simplest but the most wasteful and, over time, the most expensive. The ELFA is the reusable version of that experience: the same 600-puff pods and auto-draw, but with a rechargeable 500mAh battery you keep.
The ELFA Pro is the upgraded device in the family. It uses different Pro pods and adds refinements such as faster charging and a slightly different draw, aimed at vapers who want a step up from the standard ELFA. The Pro pods are not interchangeable with standard ELFA pods, so the two devices each have their own pod range.
For most people coming straight from Elf Bar 600 disposables, the standard ELFA is the natural first step: it is cheap, simple and uses pods that taste like the disposables they already know. If you want the more refined device and do not mind the Pro pod range, the ELFA Pro is the upgrade. Either way, both beat carrying on with single-use bars on cost and waste.
If you have ever used a disposable, you already know how to use the ELFA, with one extra step: charging it. There is nothing to assemble, no coil to screw in and no settings to learn. Charge it, click in a pod, and inhale. The whole point of the device is to feel exactly like an Elf Bar 600 once it is set up.
The Elf Bar ELFA is the easiest possible move from disposables to something reusable. It keeps the flavour, the format and the brain-free auto-draw of an Elf Bar 600, but you charge a battery and swap a cheap pod instead of binning the lot. For the cost and the waste reasons alone, it is a sensible upgrade for anyone vaping a bar a day.
It does not pretend to be a powerhouse. The 500mAh battery is built for the slim shape rather than stamina, it is 20mg only, and you do have to buy pods separately. None of that will bother the target buyer, who just wants the disposable experience without the disposable. The four colours below are cosmetic; the internals are identical, so pick on looks.
