The Elf Bar ELFX Mega is the grown-up of the ELFX range: a refillable pod kit rather than a prefilled one, which means you fill it with your own bottled e-liquid instead of buying sealed pods. That one change is the whole appeal. You pick the flavour and strength, you top it up yourself, and the running cost drops to whatever a 10ml bottle costs you. It is the natural next step once the prefilled bars start to feel limiting.

It is well specced for the money. A big 2800mAh battery (Elf Bar reckons up to two weeks a charge), adjustable power from 5 to 32 watts, an airflow slider, a screen, and a choice of Turbo or Eco modes. The pods use QUAQ dual mesh with DURA tech for a longer life, and refill from any nic salt or shortfill. It sits a clear notch above the prefilled Elf Bar range.
Unlike the prefilled bars, nothing comes filled. You drop in a refillable pod, fill it from a bottle of e-liquid, let it soak, and vape. When the flavour fades you either refill again or swap the pod. No throwaway cartridges, no being stuck with one brand of liquid.
The pods carry a QUAQ dual mesh coil with DURA tech, which Elf Bar rates for around three times the lifespan of an ordinary pod, so you are not replacing them constantly. The standard 2ml pod comes in 0.6ohm (in the box) and a tighter 0.8ohm option, and there are bigger 5ml and 10ml pods too. Grab spares from the ELFX Mega replacement pods when the coil eventually tires.

This is where a refillable earns its keep. Power runs from 5 watts up to 32, set on the screen, so you can dial the device to the pod and the liquid rather than taking what you are given. The airflow slider does the same for the draw, from a cigarette-tight MTL to a looser, airier pull.
On top of that there are two modes. Turbo pushes the power for rich, intense flavour and bigger clouds. Eco eases off for a smoother taste and noticeably more puffs from a tank. A button switches between them. It is far more control than any prefilled bar gives you, and it is genuinely useful once you find your sweet spot.

The 2800mAh battery is the headline. For a pod kit it is a big cell, and Elf Bar rates it for up to 14 days of use on a single charge, which for most people means charging it about as often as you remember to. It tops up fast over USB-C at 5V/2A, and the screen shows you exactly where you are.
It comes in six colours, from a plain black to a few brighter finishes, so you can pick one you will not lose track of. The whole point of a kit like this is that it lasts: you recharge and refill, and nothing gets binned.

Because it is refillable, you are not tied to one brand. For a tight MTL draw on the 0.8ohm pod, reach for a 50/50 nic salt: our MaryLiq, the broader Lost Mary nic salts or any 10ml salt will do nicely at 10mg or 20mg. That is the closest feel to the prefilled bars, just cheaper and in your choice of flavour.
Open the airflow and drop to the 0.6ohm pod and it will happily take a higher-VG shortfill for a looser, cloudier vape. In short: salts for tight and discreet, shortfills for airy and big. A refillable pod kit like this is the cheapest way to vape long-term once you have the device.
Yes, and it is arguably the best-value way into refillable vaping that Elf Bar makes. You get a genuinely big battery, real power and airflow control, two modes and long-life pods, for the price of a couple of prefilled kits. For anyone tired of buying sealed pods and wanting to choose their own flavour and strength, it is an easy recommendation.
The honest catches are the ones every refillable shares. There is a little more to it than a prefilled bar: you fill it, you prime the pod, you might fiddle with the wattage. You also buy e-liquid separately, though that is exactly what makes it cheaper over time. If you want zero effort, a prefilled kit like the Elf Bar 600 is simpler. If you want control and low running costs, the ELFX Mega is the smarter buy, and a refillable from Vaporesso or OXVA is its main rival.
