The pods carry a QUAQ dual mesh coil with DURA tech, which Elf Bar rates for around three times the lifespan of an ordinary pod, so you are not replacing them constantly. The standard 2ml pod comes in 0.6ohm (in the box) and a tighter 0.8ohm option, and there are bigger 5ml and 10ml pods too. This is where a refillable earns its keep. Power runs from 5 watts up to 32, set on the screen, so you can dial the device to the pod and the liquid rather than taking what you are given. The airflow slider does the same for the draw, from a cigarette-tight MTL to a looser, airier pull.

On top of that there are two modes. Turbo pushes the power for rich, intense flavour and bigger clouds. Eco eases off for a smoother taste and noticeably more puffs from a tank. A button switches between them. It is far more control than any prefilled bar gives you, and it is genuinely useful once you find your sweet spot.

The 2800mAh battery is the headline. For a pod kit it is a big cell, and Elf Bar rates it for up to 14 days of use on a single charge, which for most people means charging it about as often as you remember to. It tops up fast over USB-C at 5V/2A, and the screen shows you exactly where you are.

It comes in six colours, from a plain black to a few brighter finishes, so you can pick one you will not lose track of. The whole point of a kit like this is that it lasts: you recharge and refill, and nothing gets binned.
