OXVA has iterated on the XLIM cartridge through several generations, refining the mesh coil construction and wicking material with each revision. The V3 update focuses on two areas: coil surface consistency and wick saturation speed.

Earlier XLIM coils used a mesh structure that could have minor variations in filament spacing across the weave. The V3 mesh uses tighter manufacturing tolerances, producing a more uniform heat distribution across the coil face. This translates to more consistent flavour from the first draw to the last, with fewer instances of hot spots that can create an uneven taste.

The wick redesign improves how quickly the cotton saturates between draws. On the previous generation, rapid chain-vaping could occasionally outpace the wick and produce a faintly muted draw. The V3 wick feeds the mesh faster, which matters particularly on the lower-resistance 0.4 Ohm coil where wattage is higher and the coil consumes liquid quickly.

The XL form factor offers a practical improvement in e-liquid visibility. The standard XLIM cartridge has a narrower body with a smaller observation window, making it harder to judge the liquid level accurately without removing the pod from the device. The XL body has a wider, taller e-liquid chamber with a clear window that lets you read the level at a glance while the pod is in the device.

The XL internal dimensions also give the coil more room within the pod structure, which contributes to the improved airflow on the draw. You get a slightly smoother pull on the XL compared to the standard cartridge at equivalent resistance because the vapour path is less constricted from coil to mouthpiece.

For refilling, the wider body makes working with the top-fill port easier. There is less risk of overfilling or spilling because the reservoir is more clearly visible through the window as you add e-liquid.

The 0.4 Ohm coil is for direct-to-lung vaping. You inhale directly into your lungs in one continuous draw, much like breathing in. The airflow is loose and open, the vapour volume is high, and it suits 3 to 6 mg nicotine salt or freebase nicotine at lower concentrations. This is the choice for vapers who have come from a sub-ohm tank and want compact portability without losing the DTL experience.
