The OXVA Xlim Pro 2 DNA is the clever-clogs of the Xlim family. It takes the well-loved Xlim Pro 2 shape and the same refillable XLIM pods, then drops in an Evolv DNA One chipset, the kind of chip you normally find in serious, pricey mods. That chip brings two things you will not get on an ordinary pod: a Flavour Replay button that captures your perfect puff and replays it on demand, and an anti-dry-hit AI that watches the coil and softens a harsh pull before it happens. It is a pod that quietly thinks about your vape.

Under that it does the Xlim basics beautifully. A 1300mAh battery and fast USB-C charging keep it going, a crisp 0.56 inch HD colour screen shows your wattage, battery and resistance, and the magnetic top-fill pods make refilling clean and quick. It is refillable, so you only ever buy pods and juice, and it sits in our refillable pod kits as the smartest small pod we stock, a step up in brains from the standard Xlim Pro 2.
The DNA in the name is the point. Evolv's DNA chips have a long reputation among enthusiasts for precise, consistent power, and the Xlim Pro 2 DNA brings that down into a pocket pod. The headline feature it unlocks is Flavour Replay: when you find a puff that tastes exactly right, you press the Replay button and the chip locks that profile in, then reproduces it on every following pull. No more chasing a setting, the device just keeps giving you the hit you liked.
Working alongside it is an anti-dry-hit AI. The chip constantly reads the coil and, if it senses the wick running dry, it eases off to protect you from that harsh, burnt mouthful, then recovers smoothly. For deeper tinkerers, the DNA One supports OXVA's software so you can fine-tune the device on a computer, but you never have to: out of the box it sets itself up, shows everything on the 0.56 inch HD colour screen, and just works.

The Xlim Pro 2 DNA uses OXVA's XLIM pods, and it takes the whole family: the Stainless Steel pods, the V3 pods and the EZ pods all drop straight in, so you are never short of options. Each pod is 2ml and refillable with a built-in coil and a top-fill silicone port: lift the stopper, drip your juice in and close it, with no need to prise the pod out or rebuild anything. The kit comes with a 0.6ohm pod for a warmer, slightly looser draw and a 0.8ohm pod for a tighter mouth-to-lung style.
Because the pods carry a built-in coil, you simply swap the whole pod when the flavour tires rather than changing a coil. They are cheap, sold everywhere and snap in with a magnet, so restocking is quick and clean. Fill it with any nic salt for a satisfying MTL vape, or a higher-VG juice on the lower-resistance pod for a vapier, restricted lung draw. The pods are the same ones used across the Xlim range, so they carry over if you own another.
A side airflow slider fine-tunes the draw without changing the pod. Close it down for a tight, cigarette-like mouth-to-lung pull, or open it up for a looser, airier restricted direct-lung draw, so one device covers both styles. It has a side fire button to prime the coil before you pull, plus and minus buttons to set the wattage up to 30W, and the usual five-click lock to stop it firing in a pocket. Beginners can leave it on a sensible setting and ignore the numbers.
The 1300mAh battery is solid for a pod this slim and sees most people through a day. It charges over USB-C at 5V/2A and tops up quickly, with the exact level on the HD screen so you are never caught out. Because it recharges and refills, the only things you ever replace are the pod and the juice, never a battery or a whole device, which is what makes a refillable so much cheaper to live with than a disposable.
There is very little to it. Fill the pod, let it soak, set the wattage and vape, then press Replay once you find a puff you love. The one habit worth keeping is giving a fresh pod a couple of minutes before the first hard pull so the coil wicks and you avoid a burnt taste, though the anti-dry-hit AI helps here too.
The kit is £27.99, and after that you only buy pods and juice. XLIM pods are cheap and sold everywhere, and one pod lasts a good while before the coil tires, so the ongoing cost is low. Fill it from a 10ml nic salt for a couple of pounds and a pod-full costs pennies, far below prefilled pods or disposables. Over a month of daily use the saving against a bar-a-day habit runs into tens of pounds, which clears the slightly higher up-front price of the DNA chip easily.
Against a disposable it is no contest: you buy the device once and then only pay for pods and juice, where a bar gets binned every couple of days. You bin far less too, just a small pod now and then. It is the same money-saving logic as any refillable pod kit, only here you also get an Evolv DNA chip and Flavour Replay that you simply do not get on a cheaper pod.
The Xlim Pro 2 DNA is reliable, and the anti-dry-hit AI prevents many of the usual pod complaints. The few snags that remain trace to a pod that has not soaked, the airflow or wattage, or the lock.
Burnt or dry hit
The coil has not wicked. After filling, leave a fresh pod two to three minutes and prime with gentle pulls. The anti-dry-hit AI helps, but a bone-dry new pod still needs soaking, and the wattage must suit the pod.
Gurgle or leaking
Do not overfill, close the silicone stopper firmly and store it upright. A flooded coil clears with a few gentle pulls off the fire button.
Will not fire
Check it is unlocked with five clicks and that the battery has charge on the screen. Make sure the pod is seated fully on its magnets.
Weak flavour or thin vapour
Nudge the wattage up, open the airflow, or fit a lower-resistance pod, then press Replay on the puff you like. A tired pod that will not recover needs replacing.
The obvious comparison is the standard Xlim Pro 2. They share the same size, the same XLIM pods and the same easy refilling, so why pay a little more for the DNA? The answer is the chip. The DNA adds the Evolv DNA One chipset, the Flavour Replay button and the anti-dry-hit AI, where the standard model has none of those. If you just want a simple, cheap refillable pod, the standard Pro 2 is brilliant value; if you want the device to lock in and protect your perfect vape, the DNA is the one to pick.
Against a disposable it is in a different league on cost, control and waste: you buy it once and then only pay for pods and juice. It is a touch more involved than a sealed bar, but the screen and the smart features make it easy, and Replay means you set your favourite puff once and forget it. For anyone who wants a small pod that punches well above its size, the Xlim Pro 2 DNA is a genuine treat, and it sits alongside our wider sub-ohm vapes for the looser style.
