What are the Aspire PockeX Replacement Coils?
These are the U-Tech coils for the Aspire PockeX AIO, a design Aspire built specifically for that device. Unlike the threaded BVC coils from the clearomiser range, the U-Tech head is a self-contained coil and wick that drops into the base of the PockeX tank and is held in place when you screw the base cap shut. Two resistances give the little PockeX more range than its size suggests.
A word of warning before anything else: these only fit the PockeX AIO. Not the Nautilus, not the CE5, not a pod kit. If your device is the PockeX (standard or the Anniversary Edition), these are the right heads. The pack of five is priced for the simple truth that coils are a consumable you will keep buying.

How the U-Tech coil differs from BVC and clearomiser coils
The U-Tech is Aspire's own format for the PockeX. Where a BVC coil screws into the bottom of a clearomiser, the U-Tech drops into the base of the PockeX tank and is clamped in place by the lower assembly when you close it up. No threads to cross, no fiddling.
Inside the head, the coil and cotton are arranged around the PockeX's airflow path. The device pulls air in through the base, past the coil, and up through the tank to the mouthpiece, so the coil sits right in that stream. The upshot is that resistance and airflow are matched to each other rather than adjusted separately.
That is exactly why the PockeX is so simple to live with. No airflow ring to tweak, no wattage to dial in beyond the device's single power level, no coil-format confusion. You pick the resistance for the draw you want, drop it in, and vape.
0.6 ohm or 1.2 ohm: matching the coil to your juice
The 0.6 ohm runs at 13 to 15 watts and gives a noticeably warm vapour with a more open draw, sitting in the restricted-MTL to borderline-lung zone. Higher-VG juice in the 60/40 to 70/30 range wicks well and tastes full and rounded. Freebase nicotine at 3mg to 6mg suits it best.
The 1.2 ohm runs at 8 to 11 watts and gives the PockeX its tightest, coolest draw, with a firmer throat feel. That makes it the one for nic salts at 10mg to 20mg, which deliver smoothly at higher strengths where the lower temperature keeps everything comfortable.
Quick steer: buying the PockeX as a straight cigarette replacement and running salts? The 1.2 ohm gives the familiar tight draw. Been vaping a while, want more vapour, using freebase juice? The 0.6 ohm is the more rewarding head.

How to change a PockeX coil
It means taking the base apart, which sounds worse than it is. Prime every new coil or you will burn it on the first pull.
- 1Unscrew the base cap of the PockeX anticlockwise and pull out the spent coil by hand.
- 2Prime the new coil with two or three drops of e-liquid on the cotton ports on its side.
- 3Drop the primed coil into the base of the tank, coil head facing down.
- 4Screw the base cap back on clockwise, firm but not overtightened.
- 5Refill from the top if needed, then leave it five minutes before the first draw.
PockeX coil tasting burnt or leaking?
Almost every problem is priming or a loose base. Run through these before writing a coil off.
Burnt taste on a new coil
It was vaped before priming. A scorched coil cannot recover, so fit a fresh one and prime it properly.
Burnt taste after a week or two
The coil has worn out, sooner on sweet juice. Drop in a new one from the pack.
Leaking from the base
Make sure the base cap is done up snug and the coil is seated flat. Do not overfill the tank.
Gurgling or flooded draws
Usually too much liquid around the chimney. Take slower draws and avoid overfilling.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use PockeX coils in any other Aspire device?
No. The U-Tech coil is specific to the Aspire PockeX AIO. It will not seat in the PockeX Pack, the Nautilus or any other Aspire tank or pod. Always check the coil format for your exact device before buying.
How many coils come in a pack at £45.99?
Five. Each coil typically lasts 7 to 14 days on moderate daily use, so a pack is roughly one to two months. Lifespan depends on how sweet your juice is, how much you vape, and whether you prime each coil before first use.
Why does my new PockeX coil taste burnt?
Almost always because it was not primed. Drip a few drops onto the cotton ports, fit the coil, fill, and wait five minutes before vaping. Fire it dry and the cotton scorches on the first pull and the coil is ruined.
