The Vaporesso LUXE X2 is a compact, capable refillable pod that punches above a typical pod's weight. It carries a generous 2000mAh battery and pushes up to 40W, more than most pocket pods manage, so it can drive a warm, flavourful vape rather than just a gentle one. Vaporesso's COREX 2.0 mesh pods bring an upgraded coil and cotton for a cleaner, fuller taste, and a precision airflow control lets you set anything from a tight mouth-to-lung draw to a looser restricted lung one.

It keeps the experience simple. A traffic-light LED shows the battery at a glance, dual activation lets you fire it with the button or simply inhale, and the pods bottom-fill in seconds. Usefully it takes the wider Luxe X and Luxe XR pod range, so it slots into an established family and pods are easy to find. It sits in our refillable pod kits as a punchy, well-priced compact pod, a close cousin of the newer LUXE X3.
The LUXE X2 brings real power to a small body. It pushes up to 40W, well above the 20 to 30W most compact pods top out at, which lets it run lower-resistance pods for a warmer, more flavourful and slightly cloudier vape. Paired with the 0.6ohm pod in the box, that opens up a satisfying restricted lung draw, while the 0.8ohm pod keeps a tighter mouth-to-lung style on nic salts. You get genuine range from one slim device.
Backing that is a 2000mAh battery, which is large for a pod and important because higher-wattage vaping draws more power. It comfortably sees most people through a day, and a traffic-light LED, green, blue then red, shows roughly how much is left at a glance, so there is no screen to read. It charges over USB-C, and pass-through charging means you can keep vaping while it tops up. Because it recharges and refills, you only ever buy pods and juice.
The X2 uses Vaporesso's COREX 2.0 pods, which bring an upgraded mesh coil and cotton for a cleaner, fuller flavour and a longer pod life than older Luxe X pods. Each pod holds 2ml and fills from the bottom, and the kit comes with a 0.6ohm pod for a looser restricted lung draw and a 0.8ohm pod for a tighter mouth-to-lung one. A redesigned, thinner mouthpiece sits more comfortably than the original Luxe X.
The big practical win is compatibility. The X2 takes the wider Luxe X pod range, and it also accepts empty Luxe XR pods fitted with GTX coils, so you have plenty of options and pods are easy to restock. That cross-compatibility means if you already own a Luxe X device, your pods carry over. Fill it with any nic salt for a tight MTL vape on the 0.8ohm pod, or a higher-VG juice on the 0.6ohm pod for more vapour with the power up.
A precision airflow control fine-tunes the draw without changing the pod, from a tight, cigarette-like mouth-to-lung pull to a looser, airier restricted direct-lung one. Combined with the choice of pods and the 40W output, that gives the X2 a wide range of styles for such a compact device. It suits an ex-smoker who wants a firm MTL draw and someone who likes a touch more air and warmth equally well.
Dual activation makes it easy to live with: vape it draw-activated and just inhale, or use the side button to prime the coil before you pull, whichever you prefer. At 101mm tall and 80g it is genuinely pocketable, and there are eight colours from understated blacks to brighter finishes. It keeps the clean, modern Luxe styling while doing more than a basic pod, which is the appeal of the X2.
There is very little to it. Fill the pod, let it soak, set the airflow, and vape. The one habit worth keeping is giving a fresh pod a couple of minutes before the first hard pull so the coil wicks and you avoid a burnt taste, especially on the lower-resistance pod.
The kit is £18.99, and after that you only buy pods and juice. Luxe X pods are cheap and widely sold, and the COREX 2.0 coils last well, so the running cost is very low. Fill it from a 10ml nic salt for a couple of pounds and a pod-full costs pennies, far below prefilled pods or disposables. The maths against a bar-a-day habit is stark: the saving over a month runs into tens of pounds.
Against a disposable it is no contest: you buy the device once, then only pay for pods and juice, where a bar gets binned every couple of days. You bin far less too, just a small pod now and then. It is the same money-saving logic as any refillable pod kit, with more power and a bigger battery than most compact pods offer.
The X2 is reliable, helped by the proven Luxe X pod design. The few snags that come up trace to a pod that has not soaked, the airflow, or the activation.
Burnt or dry hit
The coil has not wicked. After filling, leave a fresh pod two to three minutes and prime with gentle pulls, and pick a pod resistance that suits your draw, the 0.8ohm for MTL salts.
Gurgle or leaking
Do not overfill, close the bottom-fill port firmly and store it upright. A flooded coil clears with a few gentle pulls off the button.
Will not fire
Check the battery on the LED and that the pod is seated fully. Use the button if the auto-draw is not triggering, and take a slightly firmer, steady draw.
Weak flavour or thin vapour
Open the precision airflow, fit the lower-resistance 0.6ohm pod, and make sure the pod is fresh. A tired pod that will not recover needs replacing.
Within the Luxe X line the X2 is the well-priced workhorse. The newer LUXE X3 adds a colour screen, a bigger battery and a higher wattage, so it is the upgrade if you want a display and more power; the X2 keeps things simpler with an LED and a keen price while still pushing a solid 40W. They share the same Luxe X pods, so pods carry over between them, which makes the choice mainly about screen and battery versus value.
Against a disposable the X2 wins on every count that matters: cost, power, battery and waste. It is a touch more involved than a sealed bar, but it gives you far more in return and recharges and refills instead of going in the bin. For anyone who wants a compact pod with real power behind it, the LUXE X2 is a strong, affordable pick, and it sits alongside our wider sub-ohm vapes for those who want a looser, cloudier style.
