Propylene glycol (PG) sensitivity is a genuine condition that affects a small percentage of vapers. PG is used in virtually all e-liquid as a flavour carrier and diluent — removing it entirely from a formulation is technically challenging and reduces flavour delivery. However, for vapers who cannot use PG, a 100% VG nic shot allows them to add nicotine to VG-dominant bases without introducing any PG at all.
The Nic Nic 100% VG shot is primarily useful for vapers who source VG-only or near-VG-only shortfill bases and want a compatible nic shot. At 10ml added to 100ml, even a 100% VG shot contributes only 9% of the total volume, so the PG-reduction effect is most significant when combined with a shortfill that is already very low in PG.
Propylene glycol is a common food-grade additive used in many products beyond vaping: it appears in medications, food flavourings and cosmetics. Most people have no reaction to PG in any concentration. However, a genuine minority of vapers report irritation when using high-PG e-liquids — typically dry throat, a scratchy sensation or, more rarely, skin reactions if PG-containing vapour contacts skin repeatedly.
For these vapers, reducing PG content is important. High-VG shortfills (70/30) already minimise PG, but adding a standard 70/30 nic shot still introduces some PG. The 100% VG shot allows the nicotine addition without any PG contribution.
Note that flavour concentrate in shortfills themselves often contains PG even in "high-VG" bases — truly PG-free vaping requires VG-only flavourless bases, which is a niche application.
The Nic Nic range covers four base types to match different shortfill compositions and user preferences. The 50% VG shot pairs with 50/50 shortfills. The 70% VG shot is the standard option for most 100ml shortfills. The 70% VG Ice Shot adds nicotine and menthol cooling together. This 100% VG shot is the specialist option for PG-sensitive vapers or pure-VG applications.
