HorizonTech Falcon 2 Tank

The Sector Mesh coil is the heart of the Falcon 2 and the main upgrade over the original Falcon. Rather than a flat mesh strip, the Sector coil uses a conical, tapered mesh element. That shape compresses and throttles the vapour as it forms and funnels it up through the tank, concentrating the flavour and delivering it directly to the tongue. The result is the dense, flavour-forward vapour the Falcon line is known for.

Mesh in general heats the e-liquid across a wide, even surface, which means faster ramp-up, more even heating and less chance of dry or burnt spots than an old-style wire coil. The conical Sector design takes that further by directing the vapour. The lead coil is a 0.14 ohm rated at 70 to 75W, a low resistance built for high-power direct-to-lung vaping and big clouds.

Other Sector Mesh resistances are available, so you can tune the experience: a slightly higher resistance for a cooler, more restrained draw, or stick with the 0.14 ohm for maximum cloud and flavour. Coils are consumables that wear over time, so you keep a few spares and swap them when the flavour dulls or you notice a burnt edge. The whole coil screws into the base of the tank with no rebuilding required.

The Falcon 2 holds up to 5.2ml of e-liquid in its 28mm bubble glass, a generous capacity that means fewer trips to the bottle during a session. Sub-ohm tanks get through liquid quickly because of the high power and big draws, so a larger reservoir is a real convenience for a heavy direct-to-lung vaper.

Refilling uses a push-to-fill top cap. You press the cap, which slides to reveal a single fill port, add your e-liquid, and press it closed again. There is no threading to unscrew and re-seat, which is faster and reduces the chance of cross-threading or leaks. The single large port takes the nozzle of most shortfill bottles easily.

When you fit a new coil or refill an empty tank, prime the coil first: put a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton, then fill the tank and let it stand for several minutes so the wicking material fully saturates. Vaping a dry coil at sub-ohm power is the quickest way to burn it, so the priming step matters more here than on a low-power pod.

The Falcon 2 is a sub-ohm tank, so it needs a sub-ohm box mod with enough power. The 0.14 ohm lead coil runs at 70 to 75W, so you want a mod that can comfortably deliver that, which most modern dual-battery or high-output single-battery box mods do. It uses standard 510 threading, so it fits the vast majority of mods on the market. It is not designed for small pod kits or low-power devices, which cannot drive a 0.14 ohm coil.

For e-liquid, the Falcon 2 wants high-VG juice, typically a 70/30 VG/PG shortfill. High VG produces the thick vapour sub-ohm tanks are built for and wicks correctly through the large mesh coil; a thin 50/50 nic salt would leak and deliver far too much nicotine at this power. A 0mg or 3mg high-VG shortfill is the right choice, such as a Big Bold or Drip 100ml mixed with nic shots to your preferred strength.

Because the draw is an airy direct-to-lung inhale at high power, most vapers run a low nicotine strength here, 3mg or even 0mg, since the volume of vapour delivers plenty of nicotine per puff. If you are coming from a tight MTL pod, expect a very different experience: more cloud, more flavour, more power, and a looser draw. The Falcon 2 is for that DTL style, not for discreet cigarette-like vaping.

HorizonTech makes several well-regarded sub-ohm tanks, and the Falcon 2 sits in the middle of the range. Against the original Falcon, the Falcon 2 brings the conical Sector Mesh coils, a refined push-to-fill cap and a cleaner build. The original Falcon used the F-series mesh coils and was a landmark tank in its day; the Falcon 2 is the modernised version with improved flavour delivery and a tidier refill system.

Against the HorizonTech Sakerz, the difference is mainly in coil design and draw character. The Sakerz uses HorizonTech's healthy mesh coils and is aimed at a slightly more restrained, flavour-focused sub-ohm experience. The Falcon 2, with its conical Sector coils, leans toward bigger clouds and a more intense, concentrated flavour. Both are quality tanks; the choice comes down to whether you want the Falcon line's signature cloud-and-flavour profile or the Sakerz's character.

As a modernised take on a landmark tank, it earns its place.

It is firmly enthusiast hardware, though, and the cons are really just the cost of that territory: it needs a proper mod and high-VG shortfills, the 0.14 ohm coil drinks juice and battery, and coils are an ongoing spend.
