The Minican 3 Pro costs less than a packet of cigarettes, and that is rather the whole pitch. At £4.99 it takes the money worry out of trying a refillable: if it turns out not to be for you, you are out the price of a meal deal, not a week's wages. Do not mistake cheap for nasty, though. Aspire has been making vapes for years across a long line of kits, and the Minican 3 Pro is built to that standard, not a knock-off.
The spec is all about being small and simple. The 500mAh battery keeps it light and pocketable, and the 1.0ohm coil gives a tight, cool MTL draw that suits a smoker far more than a cloud-chaser. Ten colours, from the practical Black to the cheerful Yellow and Lilac, mean you do not have to pick between a finish you like and a price you like. If you outgrow the small battery, the Gotek X3 and Gotek X 2 are the obvious steps up on the Aspire vape kits page.
Three buyers, and the design serves all of them. First, anyone still on disposables who wants to cut the cost and the waste. The Minican 3 Pro costs less than most disposables, only ever needs refilling with e-liquid after that, and gives a similar tight draw, which makes it the most logical first hop from throwaway to refillable.
Second, smokers trying to quit who want something that feels like the real thing. The 1.0ohm draw is cool, restricted and low on vapour, exactly the traits that make the switch feel familiar rather than strange. Load it with 20mg salt and the nicotine lands without needing big, frequent lungfuls.
Third, anyone who wants a backup cheap enough to live in a bag and never think about. At £4.99 a charged Minican 3 Pro in a coat pocket costs next to nothing to keep around, and it bails you out the day your main vape dies or gets left at home.
The 500mAh cell is the trade-off for the small body, and worth being straight about. A light vaper on 100 to 150 puffs a day may get a full day from it. A moderate user should plan on an evening charge as routine. A heavy vaper will want a midday top-up, no two ways about it.
USB-C makes that painless. Half an hour on charge over a lunch break puts a useful chunk back, and you can top it up at any state of charge rather than running it flat first. If 500mAh just is not enough for how you vape, the Gotek X3 gives you 800mAh at £8.99 in a similar size, and the Gotek X 2 jumps to 1000mAh. The Minican 3 Pro is the right pick when size, price and portability matter more than stamina.
A couple of minutes out of the box. The only rule worth keeping is to let a fresh pod soak before you vape it.
Nearly every issue is a flat battery, a pod that needs soaking, or contacts that want a wipe. None of it means a dead device.
Nothing on the draw
Charge it, check the pod is clicked fully home, and give a fresh pod a minute to soak before pulling on it.
Burnt or harsh taste
Usually a pod vaped before it wicked, or one run low. Soak new pods and keep the pod topped up rather than dry.
Battery dies quickly
The 500mAh cell is small by design. Top up over USB-C through the day, or step up to the Gotek X3 for more capacity.
A little leaking
Do not overfill past the line, keep liquid off the central tube, and wipe the contacts if any creeps down.
The good
The catch
The Minican 3 Pro comes in Green, Lilac, Pinkish Red, White, Yellow, Azure Blue, Black, Dark Green, Dark Purple and Orange, which is a wide spread for a kit this cheap. Black and White are the understated picks; the brighter shades make it easy to spot in a bag or to tell two devices apart.
It is purely cosmetic, naturally. Every colour carries the same 500mAh battery, 1.0ohm coil and 2ml pod, so choose on looks alone and do not overthink it.
