The Gotek Pro is the version of the family that grew up and got a job. Where the rest of the line goes for bright colours and smaller capacities, the Pro upgrades the three things a daily vaper actually notices: a bigger 1200mAh battery, a roomier 3ml pod, and four metallic finishes that look like a proper bit of kit rather than a toy. It is the Gotek you would happily leave on a desk in a meeting.
At £12.99 it lands at the same price as the colourful Gotek X 2, so the choice between them is about specs, not money. The Pro is for anyone who wants the battery to last and the pod to go further between refills, with a top-fill port that lets you top up without taking anything apart. If you want to weigh it against the simpler Gotek X or the wider Aspire vape kits, both are a click away.
The pairing is built to kill the two everyday annoyances of a small pod kit: a battery that taps out before the evening, and a pod that needs refilling more than once. The 1200mAh cell handles a full day of moderate-to-heavy use with something in reserve, and because it charges over USB-C you can top it up at any point without draining it flat first.
The 3ml pod is where the Pro pulls clearly ahead of the 2ml models. A moderate vaper getting through three or four millilitres a day refills a 2ml pod twice; with 3ml that often drops to a single top-up, or none for lighter users. The top-fill makes even that quick: lift the cover with the pod still seated, add juice, close it. Nothing comes apart, and your fingers stay clean.
Against its siblings the Pro is the spec leader. The colourful Gotek X 2 runs a 0.8ohm coil, a 1000mAh battery and a 2ml side-fill pod in six colours; the simpler Gotek X is smaller still. The Pro counters with a 0.65ohm coil, 1200mAh, a 3ml top-fill pod and the metallic finishes.
That 0.65ohm coil runs a touch warmer than the 0.8ohm pods, giving a slightly more vapour-dense MTL draw. The difference is real but gentle, not night and day. The bigger deal is the pod: more capacity and top-fill access. If you hate refilling and want the longest stretch between top-ups, the Pro is the clear pick. If you would rather have the widest colour choice or a side-fill design, the X 2 holds its corner.
It is about as fiddly as a kettle. Let a fresh pod soak before you vape it and you will never get a burnt first pull.
Nearly every issue is a pod that needs soaking or a fill done too enthusiastically. Run through these before worrying.
Burnt or harsh taste on a new pod
It was vaped before it soaked. Fill it, wait five minutes, then start with a couple of gentle puffs.
Burnt taste on an older pod
The coil has had its run, faster on sweet juices. Swap in a fresh pod.
Leaking after a fill
Do not overfill past the line and make sure the top-fill cover is shut flush. Wipe any stray liquid off the contacts.
Nothing on the draw
Charge it, check the pod is seated, and give a fresh pod a minute to wick before pulling on it.
The good
The catch
The Pro comes in Gun Metal, Rose Gold, Stainless Steel and Titanium, and the choice is deliberate. Where the rest of the family leans on saturated colour, the Pro uses metallic tones that read like a quality consumer gadget rather than a bright accessory.
Gun Metal is a dark grey with a faint lustre, the most discreet of the four. Stainless Steel is a clean mid-silver. Titanium is a cooler, slightly blue-grey. Rose Gold is the warmest and most distinctive, the one for standing out without shouting. All four are purely cosmetic and behave identically, so pick whichever you would not mind being seen holding.
