The Vaporesso Luxe Q and Luxe XR use different pod architectures, reflecting different priorities in design. The Luxe XR uses a modular approach: you buy the pod body and the coil separately, installing the coil into the pod and replacing only the coil when it ages. The pod body continues to be used across multiple coils. This reduces long-term cost but requires handling the coil separately each time.

The Luxe Q uses integrated pods where the coil is factory-installed in the pod body. When the coil ages, the entire pod is replaced. The trade-off is that the per-pod cost is higher per unit of coil life compared to a modular system, but the user experience is simpler: pull the old pod out, insert a new one, fill it. There is no separate coil purchase to track and no chance of incorrectly installing a coil into the wrong pod type.

If you own a Luxe Q, these are the correct replacement pods. If you own a Luxe X or Luxe XR, you need the Luxe XR pod bodies and separate coils. The two pod formats are not cross-compatible between devices.

The 0.6 Ohm pod produces a direct-to-lung draw. You inhale continuously into your lungs in one motion. At 0.6 Ohm, the Luxe Q fires at moderate wattage and produces a warm, flavourful draw with decent vapour volume. Use 6 to 12 mg nicotine salt with the 0.6 Ohm pod -- the vapour volume makes very high nicotine concentrations unnecessary for most vapers.

The 1.0 Ohm pod provides a mouth-to-lung draw. You draw vapour into your mouth first, pause, then inhale to your lungs. The action is closer to a cigarette pull, and the tighter airflow suits 18 to 20 mg nicotine salt for the most effective cigarette-replacement experience. The 1.0 Ohm pod runs at lower wattage than the 0.6 Ohm, which means less battery draw per session and a more economical e-liquid consumption rate.

The two pod types are not interchangeable within the same vaping session without some transition time -- the airflow and draw feel are meaningfully different, so most vapers settle on one style. New vapers or those switching from cigarettes are advised to start with the 1.0 Ohm MTL pod and consider the 0.6 Ohm option once they are comfortable with the device.

There is no separate coil to install, so setup is quick, but a fresh pod still needs a moment to wick before the first vape. Skip it and the cotton scorches on the opening draw, which is the most common reason a new pod tastes burnt.
