The Vaporesso Armour G is a proper pod mod: the power and flexibility of a small mod in a pocketable, pod-style body. It pushes up to 80W from a large 3000mAh MEGA battery, runs Vaporesso's AXON chip with Neo Pulse mode, and reads everything out on a crisp 0.96 inch colour TFT screen. With the versatile GTX coil platform behind it, the Armour G can do far more than a basic pod, taking you from a tight mouth-to-lung draw all the way to a warm, cloudy direct-lung vape simply by changing the coil.

It is built to feel good as well as perform. A leather grip wrapped over an aluminium frame gives it a solid, premium hand-feel, the top-fill pod refills cleanly, and Vaporesso's SSS leak-resistant chamber keeps it tidy. A four-level airflow ring fine-tunes the draw to match the coil. It sits in our refillable pod kits as the high-power, do-it-all option, a step beyond the smaller pods and a sibling to the GTX-powered GTX One Pro.
The Armour G's headline is power. It outputs up to 80W, far more than the 30W or so a typical pod manages, which is what lets it drive lower-resistance GTX coils for a warm, cloudy vape. Running it all is Vaporesso's AXON chip with Neo Pulse mode, known for fast, crisp firing and consistent output, and a Smart Mode that reads the coil and suggests a sensible wattage if you would rather not set it yourself. A five-click lock keeps it safe in a pocket.
You set and check everything on a clear 0.96 inch colour TFT screen, with a choice of three UI themes to suit your taste. It shows your wattage, coil resistance, battery and puff count, so you always know where you stand. The 3000mAh MEGA battery is genuinely large, which matters because high-wattage DTL vaping draws a lot of power; it charges over USB-C at 5V/2A and supports pass-through, so you can keep vaping while it tops up.

The Armour G uses Vaporesso's GTX coil platform, one of the most versatile and widely sold around, with an SSS leak-resistant chamber built into the pod. The appeal is range: a 1.2ohm GTX coil gives a tight, restricted MTL or RDL draw on nic salts, a 0.4ohm coil opens it up further, and 0.2 or 0.15ohm coils push into warm, cloudy direct-lung territory on higher-VG juice. The kit comes with 0.2ohm and 0.4ohm coils to get you started across that spread.
Coils press straight into the 2ml top-fill pod, so swapping between an MTL and a DTL setup is quick and clean, and the pod fills from the top through a silicone plug in seconds. The four-level airflow ring fine-tunes the draw to match the coil, from a firm cigarette-like pull to an airy lung hit. Pair the higher-resistance coils with any nic salt for MTL, or the sub-ohm coils with a 70/30 juice for clouds, and one device covers both styles.

The 3000mAh battery is one of the Armour G's strongest points. It is far bigger than a small pod's, which is exactly what high-wattage vaping needs, and it comfortably lasts most people a full day even at higher power. It charges over USB-C at 5V/2A in around an hour to an hour and a half, and pass-through vaping means you are never stuck waiting. The screen shows the exact level, so there are no surprises.
The build punches above the price. A leather grip over an aluminium frame gives it a reassuring weight and a comfortable, grippy feel in the hand, and there are ten colours to choose from. At 113mm tall it is compact for an 80W device, sitting neatly between a pocket pod and a full-size mod. It is the kind of device you can settle in with as your main vape rather than a backup.
There is a little more to it than a plain pod, but the screen guides you. Fit a coil, fill the pod, let it soak, set the wattage and vape. The one habit worth keeping is giving a fresh coil a few minutes to wick before the first hard pull so you avoid a burnt taste, especially on the lower-resistance DTL coils.
The kit is £26.99, and after that you only buy coils and juice. GTX coils are cheap and widely sold, and last a good while before they tire, so the running cost stays low even with DTL vaping. Fill the pod from a 10ml nic salt for MTL, or a larger bottle of higher-VG juice for sub-ohm clouds, and the cost per vape is pennies, far below prefilled pods or disposables.
Against a disposable it is a different world: you buy the device once, then only pay for coils and juice, and you can vape any style you like. You also bin far less, just a small coil now and then. It is the same money-saving logic as any refillable pod kit, with the added flexibility of an 80W mod, which is why a pod mod like the Armour G suits anyone who has outgrown a basic pod.
The Armour G is reliable, helped by the leak-resistant SSS pod and the AXON chip. The few snags that come up trace to a coil that has not wicked, the wattage or airflow, or the lock.
Burnt or dry hit
The coil has not wicked, or the wattage is too high for it. Soak a fresh coil three to five minutes, prime with gentle pulls, and keep the power in the coil's printed range, especially on sub-ohm DTL coils.
Gurgle or leaking
Do not overfill, seat the coil firmly and close the silicone top-fill plug properly. The SSS chamber resists leaks; a flooded coil clears with a few gentle pulls off the button.
Will not fire
Check it is unlocked with five clicks and has charge on the screen. Make sure the coil and pod are fully seated on their contacts.
Weak flavour or thin vapour
Turn the wattage up within the coil range, open the airflow, or fit a lower-resistance GTX coil for a warmer, cloudier hit. A tired coil that will not recover needs replacing.
The Armour G sits well above the simple pods in Vaporesso's range. Against a basic MTL pod it brings far more power, up to 80W, the versatile GTX coil platform and a much bigger 3000mAh battery, so it can do proper direct-lung clouds as well as a tight MTL draw. It shares the GTX coils with the GTX One Pro, so coils carry over. If you only want a simple, low-power MTL pod, those are lighter and cheaper; if you want the option of sub-ohm DTL vaping with a screen and real control, the Armour G is the one.
Against a disposable it is in a different league: cost, power, battery, the freedom to vape any style, and far less waste. It is more involved than a sealed bar, but it rewards that with real flexibility, and it recharges and refills instead of going in the bin. For anyone moving up from a basic pod to a do-it-all device, the Armour G is a strong compact pod mod, and it sits naturally alongside our wider sub-ohm vapes.
