DC MTL stands for Dual-Core MTL — SMOK's designation for a pod coil that uses two separate mesh coil elements operating in parallel within the coil housing. Where a standard single-mesh coil has one mesh strip wrapped around the cotton wicking, a DC coil has two, positioned symmetrically. The e-liquid from the pod wicks into both, and both heat simultaneously when the device fires.
The practical result is a more uniform temperature across the wicking material — the cotton is heated from two sides rather than one. This reduces the likelihood of hot spots (localised areas of excess heat that cause early coil burnout and off-flavours) and produces a more consistent flavour profile from the first use to the last days of the pod's life.
