Gold Bar Salts take the flavour identity behind the Gold Bar brand and put it in a standard 10ml nic salt bottle. The idea is simple: if you already have a pod kit or a refillable MTL device, you can vape Gold Bar's flavour lineup without committing to a new device. Buy the bottle, fill your tank or pod, and you have the same profile Gold Bar is known for without the built-in battery.

The nic salt formula uses a 50/50 VG/PG ratio. That balance is deliberate for pod systems: 50% VG keeps the vapour smooth and visible, while 50% PG thins the liquid enough to wick properly in the narrow coils most pod devices use. A high-VG liquid (70% or more) in a pod coil will dry-hit and burn because the coil cannot pull the thick liquid fast enough. The 50/50 formula avoids that problem.
Two nicotine strengths are available: 10mg and 20mg. The 20mg strength uses nicotine salt rather than freebase nicotine, which makes the high concentration smooth on the throat rather than harsh. This is the version used in most pod systems and is the one that best replicates the satisfaction profile of the Gold Bar disposable range. The 10mg option suits lighter vapers or those who are stepping down their nicotine intake.
Nicotine salt e-liquids differ from standard freebase nicotine liquids in how the nicotine molecule is structured. Freebase nicotine (the default in most shortfill e-liquids and older cigalike cartridges) becomes increasingly harsh at higher concentrations. At 20mg freebase, most vapers find the throat sensation too aggressive to vape comfortably all day. Nicotine salts solve this by pairing the nicotine with a mild acid (typically benzoic acid) that stabilises the molecule, resulting in a smoother inhale even at 20mg.
The practical effect for a vaper switching from a Gold Bar disposable is significant. The disposable uses a 2ml prefilled pod with 20mg nicotine salt. When you switch to a refillable pod system and fill it with Gold Bar Salts at 20mg, the absorption speed and satisfaction per puff should feel comparable. You are not swapping to a weaker or harsher product; you are just moving to a format that is refillable and cheaper to run over time.
The 50/50 VG/PG split in Gold Bar Salts is optimal for the coil resistances used in pod systems, which typically sit above 1.0 ohm. Higher-ohm coils (mouth-to-lung territory) run at lower temperatures and wattages, and the thinner 50/50 formula wicks correctly in them. If your device uses a sub-ohm coil below 0.5 ohm, it is designed for thicker 70/30 VG/PG shortfills rather than nic salts, and using a nic salt in a sub-ohm device will deliver nicotine far too quickly for comfortable use.
The 10ml bottle format is standard for all UK nicotine-containing e-liquids. UK law (TPD regulations) caps nicotine-containing e-liquid bottles at 10ml with a maximum nicotine strength of 20mg/ml. Gold Bar Salts are TPD-compliant, with tamper-evident caps as required.

All twelve Gold Bar Salts flavours share the same house profile: clean fruit or mint, relatively precise (not muddled), with sweetness that does not become cloying over a long session. These notes are consistent across the nic salt line and echo what made the Gold Bar disposable range popular.

Gold Bar Salts are designed for pod systems and MTL (mouth-to-lung) devices. These are devices that use coils above 1.0 ohm resistance, run at low to moderate wattages (between 10W and 25W typically), and deliver a tight draw that replicates the feel of a cigarette drag. Examples of compatible device types include basic pod kits, refillable starter kits, and MTL tanks on a box mod.
Specifically within the VapeCity range, Gold Bar Salts work well in the Gold Bar Pod System once the prefilled pod is spent and you want to explore other flavours not available in prefilled form. The Pod System uses a 2ml pod and a low-resistance coil appropriate for nic salts. Other compatible device categories include similar compact pod kits in the Vaporesso, OXVA, and Voopoo ranges.
What Gold Bar Salts are not suited to: sub-ohm tanks, direct-lung mesh coils, and high-wattage devices. If your device runs below 0.5 ohm at more than 30W, it is a sub-ohm device. Filling it with 20mg nic salt will deliver too much nicotine per puff and may cause nausea or throat discomfort. Sub-ohm devices are designed for 3mg or 6mg freebase shortfills, not 20mg nic salts.
If you are unsure which category your device falls into, the draw test is the easiest guide. MTL devices give a tight, cigarette-style draw. DL (direct-lung) devices feel like drawing through a wide-open tube. Gold Bar Salts belong in MTL devices only.
The right nicotine strength depends on your background and how much you vape per session. There is no universal answer, but there are two reliable rules of thumb that work for most vapers.
The 20mg option is appropriate if you are recently switched from cigarettes, if you used Gold Bar disposables as your primary product before moving to a refillable device, or if you vape infrequently throughout the day and need stronger satisfaction per puff to avoid reaching for a cigarette. The nicotine salt formula makes 20mg smooth enough to use all day in a well-matched pod device without becoming overwhelming.
The 10mg option makes sense if you have been vaping for a year or more and are content with your current intake level, if you chain-vape (vaping continuously across long sessions), or if you find 20mg leaves you feeling light-headed. A heavy vaper going through multiple pods per day will find 10mg more appropriate than 20mg. Ten milligrams still delivers meaningful satisfaction but with less risk of nicotine overconsumption if you vape frequently.
One practical note: Gold Bar Salts at 20mg absorb noticeably faster than freebase liquids at 10mg or lower, because nicotine salt crosses the bloodstream lining more quickly. If you are genuinely trying to lower your nicotine intake, moving from 20mg nic salt to 10mg nic salt is a smaller reduction than it appears. The 10mg nic salt may still deliver more effective nicotine per puff than some 18mg freebase liquids.
Gold Bar Salts make sense if you already have a pod kit or MTL device and want to access the Gold Bar flavour range without being locked into a specific device. The quality is consistent with what Gold Bar puts into their prefilled pod range, the 50/50 formula is properly matched to pod coils, and the flavour range covers the most popular profiles from the disposable and refillable kit lines.
They are not the cheapest nic salts on the market. Brands like Bar Salts and Elux Legend Salts offer comparable quality at lower per-bottle prices. What Gold Bar brings is a stronger brand identity, a recognisable flavour benchmark (especially for ex-Gold Bar disposable users), and consistent flavour accuracy across the range. If you know you like Watermelon Ice or Blue Raspberry from Gold Bar devices, the Salts version will deliver the same flavour profile you already trust.
Compared to the Gold Bar Pod System prefilled pods: the pod system is easier because everything is pre-filled and you just swap the pod. Gold Bar Salts in a refillable device give you more flexibility (fill with any flavour, in any quantity), but require a compatible device and slightly more involvement in the refilling process.
