The Gold Bar Apollo 20K is the brand's high-capacity AIO (all-in-one) rechargeable kit. AIO in this context means the battery, the tank, and the refill system all sit in one compact boxy unit rather than in separate parts that clip together. The form factor is distinctly different from the taller, bar-style Gold Bar devices: the Apollo is wider and shorter, closer in shape to a thumb drive or a miniature power bank.

The 20K puff count comes from a refillable tank approach. Inside the pack, you get the battery body, one 2ml prefilled tank and coil unit, and 5ml refill containers. You vape until the 2ml tank runs dry, then refill it from the 5ml container. The tank is designed to take multiple refills before the coil needs replacing, and the manufacturer quotes up to six refills per tank lifetime, which is where the 20,000 puff total comes from. Additional refill containers are sold separately for when your starter supply runs out.
That puts the Apollo in a different category from the Gold Bar XL and the Gold Bar Pod System. Both of those are pod-swap systems where the coil lives inside a prefilled pod you replace wholesale. The Apollo keeps the coil in the device tank and refills the liquid separately. This can mean better cost-per-puff over a long run but requires a bit more active engagement than a simple pod swap.
The Apollo 20K has three main components: the battery body, the 2ml tank and coil unit, and the 5ml refill container. The tank/coil clicks into the top of the battery body. The refill container is a separate piece you use to top up the tank when it runs empty.
Here is the distinction from auto-refill pod systems like the XL: on the Apollo, you actively refill the tank yourself. When vapour production drops and the liquid level in the 2ml tank is low, you open the refill container and pour or squeeze the e-liquid in. The tank accepts the fill and you carry on vaping. There is no auto-feed mechanism; the 5ml container is a topup vessel rather than a continuously feeding reservoir.
The 2ml tank contains the Hyper Mesh Coil that heats the e-liquid. This coil is designed to last through up to six full refills before it needs replacing, with "replacing" meaning swapping out the entire tank/coil unit for a new one. Six 5ml refills plus the initial 2ml fill accounts for roughly 32ml of e-liquid per tank lifetime. At typical nic salt vaping rates, that maths out to the quoted 20,000 puffs over a tank's working life.
The child-safe cover on the refill container is a cap design that requires deliberate pressure and turning to open. It prevents accidental spillage and meets the childproofing requirements for nicotine-containing products under UK packaging rules. If you are decanting e-liquid in a hurry, the cap is the main friction point; once you are used to it, it opens in a second.

The 1000mAh battery sits between the Pod System's 500mAh and the XL's 1200mAh in terms of capacity. It is not the largest cell Gold Bar puts in a device, but it is proportioned for the Apollo's compact boxy build. Most vapers at moderate usage get through a full day without recharging, though the Apollo's liquid-to-battery capacity ratio means you will likely need to top up the tank more than once before the battery needs plugging in.
Charging is via USB-C on the base of the device, the same standard used across all rechargeable Gold Bar products. The cable is not included in the box. A standard 5W charger will fill the 1000mAh cell in roughly an hour to ninety minutes. The device can sit flat on a desk while charging thanks to the boxy form factor, which is a small practical advantage over slimmer pod kits that tip over if left standing.
The build quality of the Apollo leans into the brand's gold and black aesthetic. The lower body is a polished gold-finish panel with the Apollo by Gold Bar diamond logo embossed on it. The upper section, where the tank and pod connectors sit, is matte black. The contrast is deliberate and consistent with the rest of the Gold Bar product family. It is a compact device but it does not feel lightweight in the hand.
Unlike the Pod System, which has no battery indicator, the Apollo does include an LED indicator so you know when the charge is running low. This follows the same pattern as the Gold Bar XL and is a welcome addition for any device you are relying on for extended use.

Ten flavours is a tighter range than most other Gold Bar products, but the Apollo's selection covers the brand's core strengths. Fruit ices dominate, with a couple of sherbet and fizzy options and one standalone mint. There are no tobacco options in the Apollo lineup.
The first setup is slightly more involved than a pod swap, but straightforward once done.
The Apollo 20K is the right choice if you want the highest puff count in the Gold Bar range without going to a traditional refillable vape kit. At up to 20,000 puffs per tank lifetime, it outlasts the Gold Bar XL on pure endurance. The Hyper Mesh Coil, combined with the ability to refill rather than bin the whole tank, also brings the ongoing running cost below most pod-swap systems once the initial kit is paid for.
The tradeoff versus the XL is engagement. The XL auto-refills the pod from its 10ml reservoir; you never actively refill anything. The Apollo requires you to notice when the tank is low and manually top it up from the 5ml container. It is a minor task but it is more frequent than a pod swap. The tighter flavour selection (10 versus 15 on the XL) is also a limit if you want variety.
Compared to the Gold Bar Pod System at £10.99, the Apollo is more expensive upfront but considerably more economical over the long run for a heavy vaper. If you are going through two or three pods a week on the Pod System, the Apollo's refill-based model starts to pay back quickly. For a light or occasional vaper, the Pod System's lower entry price makes more sense.
