IP ratings are an international standard for electronic enclosure protection against solid particles and liquids. The "6" in IP68 means the device is completely dustproof: no dust or particulate matter can enter the device enclosure. The "8" means it is waterproof to the highest standard in the IP scale, rated for submersion beyond 1 metre depth (Geekvape certify it to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes).

For vaping, the practical implications are: rain and splashes pose no risk whatsoever; accidental submersion in a sink, puddle, or pool is survivable; dust and grit from construction sites, beaches, or workshops cannot penetrate the circuitry. The rubber port covers on the charging port and battery access are part of the IP68 seal and should be kept closed when not in active use.

The Zeus Nano II included in the Legend 5 kit is a 5ml sub-ohm tank built around the Z Series mesh coil system. The top-fill design lifts the mouthpiece section to expose the fill port, with a locking mechanism that prevents accidental opening in a pocket or bag. The Zeus Nano II uses a dual-coil-slot arrangement at the base, and the included mesh coils offer the same flavour clarity and even heat distribution as the wider Z Series range.

Airflow is managed via a bottom-side ring with two inlet slots: adjust fully open for maximum cloud production at higher wattages, restrict slightly for a warmer, denser flavour profile. The Zeus design manages airflow routing specifically to prevent condensation and leaking, a long-standing strength of the Zeus platform that carries through to the Nano II.

The Legend 5 uses Geekvape's AS-5 chipset, which fires in under 0.001 seconds from the moment the fire button is pressed. Smart mode automatically detects the resistance of the attached coil and suggests a starting wattage; accepting this suggestion is adequate for most vapers. Manual wattage mode allows adjustment in 1W increments up to 100W. Temperature control mode is available for stainless steel and nickel coils.

The chipset also includes short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, overtime protection and low battery protection across both cells. The Legend 5 supports pass-through charging via the USB-C port on the device, allowing use while charging, though Geekvape recommend using an external charger for daily battery maintenance.

Eight colour options cover both conservative and expressive preferences. Carbon Black is the standard professional option. Frost Silver is a light metallic that reads as clean and modern. Earth Brown and Glacier Green are unusual in the regulated mod category: subdued natural tones that look nothing like competing devices. Turbo Red and Racing Gold are the performance-aesthetic options. Twilight Blue is a deep blue with a slight iridescence. Aurora Rainbow is the most distinctive: an iridescent multi-tone finish that shifts between colours in different light.
